H&M focuses on being eco friendly

Malls across America have been celebrating the open of H&M with loud music booming through the coordors, lines weaving through the hallways and shoppers arriving at all hours to get the first glimpse of the new fashions to arrive.

H&M Openings Across the US

While companies restragerize to how they can conserve and save energies, labor, and work with more sustainable materials, H&M's Ingrid Schullström has been working on this since 1997. H&M's focuses are on water conservation, CO2 conservation, water cleaning for textile production, and employee/labor issues.

A recent interview with Ingrid Schullström can be found here.

It is great to see a local retailer, even if the textile productions are in foreign countries (China primarily in H&M's case) to be taking a proactive role in working towards friendly employee relations and conservation for the environment.
